Peach. Blackberry. Apple. Red Grape. Virginia, in a bottle, in four labels.
This is a curated set of four original New Old Stock American fruit wine labels — circa 1930s–1950s lithographs, all from Petersburg, Virginia, all bright and colorful, three gilded and three embossed. Never used, never attached to a bottle. The set includes: Virginia Lee Peach Wine, Briar Patch Blackberry Wine, Hoghead Apple Wine, and Three Bears Red Grape Wine. One set available.
These are labels only. No frame is included. We suggest purchasing a multi-opening frame locally to save on shipping — a standard 8x10 or 5x7 multi-opening frame works beautifully with this set.
The set was curated for its color, its charm, and its Americana. These are not the serious, heraldic labels of the French wine trade — they are something warmer and more particular: small Virginia fruit wines with names that tell their own story. Briar Patch. Hoghead. Three Bears. Virginia Lee. Four labels that feel like a Saturday afternoon in the countryside, each one bright and cheerful, three of them gilded, three embossed with a texture you can feel. Petersburg, Virginia had its own wine culture, and this set is a rare surviving record of it. Guaranteed genuine originals, not reproductions.
Display them together in a multi-opening frame for a kitchen, a farmhouse dining room, a bar, or a country-style interior. Vivid and full of character on any wall.
A wonderful gift for a Virginia history enthusiast, a fruit wine lover, a lover of Americana and folk art, or anyone who appreciates the warmth and wit of mid-century American label design.
